Security Professionals
We make the "supply chain" secure
According to criminal statistics, thefts and frauds have been steadily increasing in recent times. More than 60% of shipping, logistics and transport companies are or have been victims of these types of industrial crimes.
Since September 11th 2001, the European Commission, together with other organisations, has been more heavily involved than ever in attempting to achieve improvements in security.
In November 2002, the American Congress passed the "Maritime Security Act" (C-TPAT). The national laws will be implemented in 2007 by the European Council with appropriate security concepts.
We offer the proper anti-theft devices for use with regard to this law.
Trans-Safety supports these actions by producing or importing a series of mechanical, electrical and electronic locking systems that prevent tampering and make visible any tampering that has taken place. The American ASTM (equivalent to DIN in Germany) has issued guidelines on this subject and is testing the various different products.
We also supply products for the HACCP regulations (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), which are guidelines for the transportation of foodstuffs.
We are happy to inform you that products in our SEALOCK line for the tampering-free locking of sea containers are also listed in the ASTM Class F 1158 (mechanical seals).
Our TSR - Disposable lock has the highest C-TPAT classification and the TSR - Keeper also has, as one of the very few, the highest classification - ASTM F1158 Class 1 FFFFFF. With these locking systems, we have therefore attained the highest possible level. We also meet the requirements of the certification association TAPA.

CSI and SST
Container Security Initiative and Smart and Secure Trade Lanes
The situation for sea transport is rather more complex. Through a series of checks, it was discovered that the security standards in many cases were completely neglected or were not respected and that the documentation that should accompany the goods was either poor or inadequately maintained.
With CSI and SST, it was attempted to create a regulation for adherence to the security standards and for completely secure safe-keeping of the data documentation. The USA, for example, can thus stop this type of illegal goods before it arrives in the USA.
The decision that the documentation must be presented 24 hours before the ship sails provoked a huge discussion. These major changes in customs practice could lead to additional expenses for the shipping companies and the consignees in some cases.
CSI and SST are therefore interested in safety measures that limit these expenses and result in the fact that a seal which is considerably more secure and which has an electronic control system is used.
Regarding seals:
Make sure that both doors of a sea container are sealed/stopped. The left door can always be opened even if the right door is sealed.

TSA
Transportation Security Administraton
TSA was organised by the Transport Department of the USA in November 2001. The goal was to improve the screening of pieces of luggage and the security arrangements in airports.
DHS
Department of Homeland Security
Created by President Bush in June 2002 with, as its primary objectives, the monitoring of borders, the reaction to emergency cases of a terrorist nature and the development of technologies to identify weapons of mass destruction.
USA PATRIOT ACT
Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate
Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism
Intended chiefly as a monitoring system for suspicious funds which might be used to finance terrorist attacks.
