If the immobiliser does not receive a valid code after the starting of the motor, it goes into alarm status. A few seconds later, the vehicle starts to flash and hoot and after 3 seconds of being stationary (e.g. at a red traffic light) the vehicle becomes substantially slower after starting. After the motor is switched off, the vehicle can only be started again with a special code.
